With a significant percentage of the United Kingdom's workforce currently in the construction industry, one might think that construction jobs UK are hard to find, what with the number of people already in the sector in one way or another. Statistics from the government indicate that over 7 percent of the people in the working age category are in the construction industry as of 2009 - that's more or less equal to 2.2 million workers. Analysts also predict this figure to increase by as much as 6 million by 2012, despite the economy's current dismal condition.

Yet another factor that has contributed to the growth of the UK's construction industry is the advent of sustainable and environment-friendly infrastructure. There is now an initiative to create, as well as overhaul the structure of existing buildings in order to make them more energy-efficient and produce less waste.
